What’s that Dear Diary? I can’t hear you! Whaa?
So friends of ours had extra tickets to see My Bloody Valentine at Kool House on Thursday. I’m not a super fan but liked them so I wanted to check it out…
When we got there, I was wondered why they were handing out ear plugs at the door but as soon as MBV began playing I realised why. THEY WERE LOUD! Like REALLY loud! I know I sounded like an ol’ fuddy duddy when I say that but I swear at some point I looked over at the sound guys and they were looking at the decimal meter thingy and shaking their heads.
From where we were standing (front and center) I could barely look at the stage because the laser lights were shining right in my eyes. After about half an hour I decided that this was best enjoyed from a bit of a distance and moved myself to the side lines. From there the sound was great (I was wearing my hot pink ear plugs for style) and I can actually see the stage (and also watch die-hards in the crowd shield their eyes as they stared directly into the solar eclipse).
My Bloody Valentine rocked the house down (literally). We had a great time and I kept my sexy little ear plugs as a souvenir.
