Field Trip
5th October, 2008
I often find it comforting to go for long drives, especially ones that take me out of the city. I might be the combination of fresh air (I like to drive with the window down even in the winter). Or maybe the feeling of control when things in my life feel out of wack. There’s also nothing like being out on the open road to curb the feeling claustrophobia. So I thought today would be a great day to go check out an antique market not too far outside the city.
I’ve gone to this particular market a few times, but never this late in the year. Being that it’s fall, there were A LOT of wasps buzzin’ around! And if you know me at all you know I get super freaked out around bugs of any kind. “Anything with more than four legs” I always say.
Under normal circumstances I would’ve run back to the car and drove straight back into the city. But I ended up having one of the best shopping trips at this market for a long time. Now I know I initially went just for the drive but ooh boy was the drive worth it! Here are some of the goodies I adopted…
Aren’t they cute? I didn’t know that the vendors have been hording all their Christmas decorations till this last show of the year. I LOVE kitchy Christmas decorations! Our entire Christmas tree is covered in toy ornaments! I can’t wait till Christmas to put the tree up this year.
