Hokey Pokey

We went for a lovely dinner with friends of ours a couple nights ago at this restaurant called Southern Accent. Wow what an experience! Aside from the tasty menu, the decor of this restaurant was fab-u-lous! Part voodoo den, part Alice in Wonderland chique, Southern Accent certainly had this New Orleans charm that peaked my curiosity and taste buds.
Alright enough with the pleasantries. I’m going to be honest and tell you the real reason we went to Southern Accent that night. We went to visit with their in house psychic! Now I’m not the type that seeks out this kinda thing and I’ve only been read like twice before (and they’re weren’t life changing or anything), but this psychic lady came HIGHLY recommended by a trusted friend of mine. So I was definitely curious to see what she had to say.
There were Four of us that night who got read. Two of us had really profound and eye opening readings and the other two had ho-hum, run of the mill readings. Unfortunately for me, I had a ho-hum experience.
She started off with some pretty specific statements about me that, unfortunately for her, was waaaaay off base so already she’s lost major psychic points with me. She then followed with some very general comments like “oh you should be careful of gossip and stay away from gossip!” (duh!) and “Oh your small business is going to have it’s ups and downs” (duh again, which small businesses doesn’t have ups and downs?) Oh and incase you’re wondering if she guessed that I owned a small business, she didn’t and I had to tell her (and after I told her she guessed that I was a fashion designer. She’s close but no cigar. ).
Anyways, here’s a quick list of her predictions. These are all supposed to happen to me within the next 9 months. If by the end of 9 months everything has come true I will eat my own words - happily and with enthusiasm! I will swear up and down that this lady is the real thing and tell y’all her name and contact info. Until then though, I’m going to take it with a grain of salt. Well let’s not be too negative and give it a chance. Here goes:
1) The “gossip abound” statement. I’m supposed to stay away from gossip remember?
2) People with the initials B and also D are supposed to come into my life in a significant manner. (Please if you’re a Betty or a Daniel, don’t leave creepy comments just to freak me out!)
3) Great things are about to happen to my business in Spring/ Summer 2009! Now does she mean that I’ll find the damn stapler I lost a while back? Or will Chapters place orders with me for their 150 locations?
4) I’m up for an award (I’m up for an award? Is it an Oscar??) and will win said award.
5) I will consider splitting my business with someone this spring (I will?). But I’m not supposed to do that and just hire her as an employee.
Hmmm…. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Better go find my stapler in case those 150 orders come flooding in!
