Number crunching

22nd October, 08

Updating a website can be hard, especially when you’re self taught and have to resort to fumbling around and figuring out how everything works.  I’ve been doing this for 3 years now.  It’s a little easier than when I first started but it’s still no piece of cake.  I often describe it as playing the board-game “Operations” but with real live wires clamped to your elbows. Misplace one little </> and ZZZAAAAAP!

Now I’ve been working the last two days to get the gift certificates up and running on my site.  Given how little fun it is to write HTML code, I would STILL rather do that than my taxes.  Is it the same for everyone??

Oh yes, I got a nice phone call from Revenue Canada last week, gently reminding me that my Retail Sales Tax Return is overdue.  *SIGH*  Is there ANYTHING in the world I dislike more than doing taxes?  I mean I would rather spend two days pulling my hair out figuring out HTML code than whip out a calculator and punch some numbers in.  I dunno, seems reasonable to me.

It’s so unfair to have to spend time on this (insert self pity here) when I have another million things I need to take care of.  But enough procrastination, I have to get it done!  So today I put on my accountant hat and tuck a pencil behind my ear.  My calculator is revved up and ready to go…

But just in case I get lost in the abyss of numbers, Please call someone if I don’t resurface in 24 hours.
