Zombie walk
23rd October, 08
If you haven’t already figured it out, I *heart* zombies. I love their lurchi-ness, their grope-iness, their moanie-ness. Ask the boy how many times I’ve gone over with him our zombie contingency plan and he’ll roll his eyes I’m sure. And to prove I’m no fair weather zombie fan, I even sat through “Diary Of The Dead” in its entirety. Yup all 95 painful minutes of it.
So after yesterday’s tax fiasco, I thought I’d cheer myself up by sorting the photos I took last weekend of the Toronto Zombie Walk. Ooh boy was that fun! I’ve never been to one before and I have to say that next year I’m defintaley, positively, without a doubt, going to join in next year!
Toronto has a Zombie Walk every year. This year it was rumoured that the parade was so big they had to get a permit. Zombie wranglers were employed to keep the zombies on the sidewalk! Everytime a streetcar went by, well as you can imagine, it’s like Meals On Wheels really isn’t it.
We started off at Gore Vale Avenue on top of some church steps (yeah like that’s going to save us from the apocalypse!) to watch the action and then moved onto Bathurst street, sat in our car and watched the living dead parade lurch by.
My favourites were definitely the zombie who walked around with “Z.E.T.H. - Zombies for Ethical Treatment of Humans” slogan and also the “peace, love, brains” hippy zombie. They were also chanting:
Crowd: What do you want?
Zombies: Brrrainssss!
Crowd: When do you want it?
Zombies: Brrrainssss!
And for those of you non believers out there, check out this article about why the zombie apocalypse could actually happen. So when it does, don’t come crying to me to borrow a chainsaw!
*Of course you can borrow a chainsaw!*
