Soapy Goodness

Over the weekend I went to my friend Nathalie Roze’s shop to take one of her super fun workshops. Nathalie hosts lots of different types of workshops at her store. There’s so many to choose from it’s kinda hard to pick just one. There’s felting, beading, lino block printing?… in the end I picked organic soap making. Fun!
I have always wanted to know a bit about soap making (having packaged the stuff for many years), and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Amanda, the instructor, is the talent behind Simply Soap - a fair trade and organic line of bath and body products. I’ve met Amanda a few times before at craft shows and I’ve always loved her soaps.
The class was awesome and we had so much fun. We even had time for a tea break with scones, jam and cream. How civilized!
Under Amanda’s guidance we mixed our very own concoctions. Mine is a Lavender/Vanilla / Mint soap. All my favourite things rolled into one! We were all so excited to use our new soaps when Amanda says that we have to wait like 4 weeks before we could use it. But just as we all started pouting she whips out a few bars she made for us to take home. What a sweetheart!
So what next… felting? Beading? Lino block printing? Hmmm…
