My little pony

18th March, 09

To make up for my lost weekend, the boy and I went to a racehorse training facility up at King City yesterday.  He’s a journalist for a local paper you see, and he interviews lots of trainers and jockeys for the paper and as well for his blog.  I don’t know much about horse racing but sometimes I tag along as the unofficial press photographer.

It was like a school field trip to a petting zoo!  The horsie you see here was giving me nibbly kisses!  Which would explain why I look like a giddy two year old in the photo. We had so much fun and it totally made me wish I had remebered to wear one of my pony pins that day!  Oh well, afterwards the boy bought me lunch at the local fish and chip shop.  Woohoo!

Coming back into the city and back into work was a bit of a drag (booo!).  But hard work was rewarded when I took the boy out for an St. Patty’s day pint later that night (he’s Irish).  Every year I underestimate the shear force of this celebration!  Pub after pub we were turned away.  It seems someone must’ve shipped all the university students to our neighbourhood or something.  It was wall to wall American Apparel wearin’, green gallon hat tottin’, Facebook picture takin’ frat boys and girls EVERYWHERE!  We finally settled for a bar we don’t usually frequent, just because they had a table for us.

Even though I couldn’t help but feel older than Moses stacked up next to these pretty young things, we had a fun time!  We also had a couple giggles at the expense of girls who can’t hold their liquor, and boys with pick up lines like “I wish I had a lobster dumpling.  Don’t you?”.

Wow!
