Things that grow

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a baby person. Haven’t thought about having one myself and don’t usually goo goo gaga over someone else’s. But friends of ours had a baby last year. And even though I hate to admit, their baby is ADORABLE!
Ben was about 8 months old when we first met him last summer. His parents (our friends) live in Austria so we don’t get to see them very often. Recently they were in town for a short stint but we kept missing each other (with them going on vaca in Barbados and us going away to New York). This week we finally had a chance to see them.
Ooh boy do these things grow fast! What was a cute little cooing baby who could barely sit up last summer is now a walkin’ talkin’ human being. I swear this kid picked up his dad’s iphone, slid his finger across the screen and turned the damn thing on! I knew there was a reason why we got along so well. Go young Jedi!
Ben’s a year and a half old now. I can only imagine how big he’s going to grow by the time we see him again next year. I was only half joking when I say he’s probably going to be taller than me by then!
