Worried that I would come across as some crazy cat lady I decided against making actual new baby announcement cards for our new fur baby.  But please say hello to our new kitty cat Biggie!

It’s been just over a year since our other cat “Mao” passed away.  Kitty and Mao never got along and used to fight like cats and dogs (only in this case it was cat and cat) so we were apprehensive about bringing another cat into the house again.  Biggie’s previous owner couldn’t keep him anymore due to allergy reasons, so she asked around around to see if anyone wanted to adopt him.  When we saw a picture of him, we were smitten right away!

He looks EXACTLY like our cat Kitty!  They have the same fur patterns on their foreheads and legs, same fuzzy ears and build.  See?! Isn’t that weird?  The only difference is that Biggie’s a ginger and Kitty’s a tabby.

We want so badly for these two kitties to get along so we’ve been careful with their interactions with one another.  How funny they both act exactly the same way as one another as well!  The first sign of confrontation they both run the opposite direction.  They’re super stubborn but it’s been all talk and no action, just low growls and moans.

I’ve spent the last few nights on the couch with Biggie to get him acclimatized (and to avoid middle of the night sneak attacks), and the boy and I have spent so much time sitting between them on the hallway landing, sweet talking to both.  When things get dicey, we jingle jangle whatever toys we can find in between the cats to distract them from growling at one another.  I wish I could just tell them to chillax, and that there’s plenty of room and love to go around.
