Creepy cute

Since it’s Halloween today, I thought I’d set the mood by featuring some pieces from one of my favourite artists, Mark Ryden. Mark is an artist from California who’s beautiful work can be described as “creepy cute”. I adore his paintings and was lucky enough to stumble upon his art exhibit at the Kochsbos Gallery in Amsterdam (seriously we just walked into the gallery looking for directions to somewhere else).
I find his work fascinating! Caught somewhere between a dream and a nightmare, his characters and subject matter are so lovable and scary at the same time. Like you want to hug them and be O.K. with them quietly stabbing you at the same time.

Oh my! They are creepy cute indeed! I bet their little diabolical knives they’d use for stabbing would be super cute as well.Thanks for the intro ( I think)
