Weekend field trip

15th March, 10

It was grey and dreary all through the weekend, but it didn’t stop the boy and I from taking a mini road trip out to a lovely horsie farm on Saturday.

I’m TOTALLY addicted to my Hipstamatic iPhone app!  I think the rain made for some really interesting pictures.  These I took with my newly downloaded Roboto Glitter lens and Berry Pop flash.  Love it!

After driving about an hour, we arrived in the beautiful North Hope farm in Port Hope.  How lucky for us that the rain had made the country air extra super fresh!  If I could only bottle that air and bring it back with me, I’m sure I could use a whiff of it, say, on a Wednesday afternoon.

(these three pics I took with my regular camera and adjusted with my Lo-mob app)

As we approached the front door, we were greeted by lovely owner Val and her four super excited puppies.  So cute!  Funny too ‘cos they all ran pass the boy and towards me, tails wagging like crazy, wet sloppy kisses an’ all,  like we’ve known each other for years.  I’ve never met these cuties before!

I think the boy was a little jealous of all my canine lovin’.

Val invited us into her lovely country home and while the boy was busy interviewing her for his article, sweet puppy dog Stella and I got acquainted.

Stella explained me me how she lost her eye in a unfortunate marshmallow-roasting-stick-poked-her-in-the-eye accident last summer.  Poor wee thing!  Could’ve happened to anybody I suppose.

She got extra noggin rubs and ear scratches for giving me her undivided attention.

After about an hour, we went outside to visit with some of Val’s lovely retired horsies.  I felt kinda like Paddington Bear in my wellies and duffle coat but was sooooooo glad that we bought them with us ‘cos the rain had made the fields super muddy!

Hipstamatic with Roboto Glitter lense and Kobot Verichrome film.

We felt totally rejuvenated and fresh from our visit to the farm.  Thanks Val for letting spend a wonderful afternoon with you and your four legged family!
