Dear iPhone, did I tell you that I love you today?  Well I love you today! I’ve just discovered a couple of really awesome iPhone apps.  Hipstamatic and Lo-mob are two super cool camera apps that let’s you manipulate and have fun with your boring ‘ol iphone camera.

Hipstamatic is fun to use and has a really cool interface that actually looks like you’re using an old camera.  You can play around with different kinds of film, flash and lenses.  The basic app comes with about 6 different combinations which is great to start.  If you get bored with those you can also buy “Hipstapaks”, which are other lenses, flashes and films with themes like Williamsburg, Portland and Shibuya.  Lots of fun!

Lo-mob is a little different in that it lets you transform photos you’ve already taken with your iPhone, into retro looking photos and lets you experiment with low tech photography.  Interface is not as cool as Hipstamatic but there’s LOTS of photo effects to choose from and you can play around and try different ones on the same photo.

I love them ‘cos it makes your photos just a leee-tle bit more interesting.  And I love how some settings make the photos softer and more grainy, and others make the colors really saturated and crazy.

What do you think so far?  It’s so much fun to play with!  This is the first batch of what will be a series for sure.  Hopefully I’ll get better results once I get more comfortable with the app.
